Stage 1 - A Sweet World and a Sour Society ~ Overworked Employee (Sky over Gensokyo, presumed)
"Black shadows wriggling atop a strangely sweet world. Could they be connected to the incident?"
Boss: One of the Top 20% of Hardworking Ants, Nimuni Ookuro. A hard-working youkai ant with the ability to carry home sweets, who mistakes the protagonist for a giant ambulatory dessert. (If one applies the usual pattern of "stage 1 boss is small-scale foreshadowing of the game's overall theme", then 'ants crawling all over sweets' seems kind of ominous...?)
Stage 2 - Lab Animals' Paradise ~ Mouse Park (Forest of Magic, presumed)
"You mustn't let sugary sweets loose in the wild. Humans aren't the only things they'll attract."
Boss: The Bizarre Seven-Brained Mouse, Shiroko Nanazu. A genetically-engineered lab rat who passed into fantasy, and who has seven brains as a homage to The Nutcracker's seven-headed Mouse King. A local hero to outcast mice; she likewise mistakes the protagonist for a giant cake, and seems genuinely surprised to discover that they're human.
Stage 3 - Inedible Sweets ~ Sweetheart of Tin (Kingdom of Sweets - In front of castle gate)
"The towering walls of a candy castle. Just who is it that stands before the gate?"
("So that looks like the wall of a candy castle to you? Very well! Very well indeed!")
Boss: Fake Sweets Built of Tin, Moe Suzuki. Andersen's titular Steadfast Tin Soldier, now a human-hating doll youkai who's been assigned to protect "Her Highness" and friends by guarding the castle's gate. Though she's made of tin through and through, the protagonist seems convinced that she's made of candy; upon noticing this, Moe changes her attitude and lets them pass. The sudden gray-out in the stage title intro also seems to indicate that the castle isn't as saccharine as it looks...

There apparently was a Touhou event as of late? I know that technically if not for COVID-19 we'd have Reitaisai, but it seems like now a lot of artists are just releasing their albums or stuff in general and for free, which is also a surprise.That would be this year's Nico Dousai (https://nicodosai.com/), yeah! It's a regular JP fandom event where people post any sort of Touhou content they've made to Nicovideo. (Though it's a regular thing, I'm sure Reitaisai's cancellation certainly had an impact on this year's turnout... ;;^^)
Also I imagine the reason why Suzuku Nanazu is in the hospital clothes is because of the mentioned operation, but there's just something unsettling about that blood bag with AKR written on it... I don't know if I get this one."AKR" seems to be the acronym for a specific breed of albino lab mouse. It's more like she was bred for certain genes rather than operated upon, so I figure the clothes and bag are because her genotype also has anemia or the like?

S1 boss: Mitsuki Yotsume, a moon jellyfish who spends her days aimlessly sleepwalking. (Or sleep-floating, rather.)
S2 boss: Mashu Tenhyou, a sea angel who's friends with Mitsuki.
S3 boss: Ayuka Choubane, a lantern fish (and kemari champion) who communicates via writing on a whiteboard.
S4 boss: Fue Kyourou, a sperm whale who uses her species' amazing diving capabilities to serve as a deep-sea tour guide.
S5 boss: Mirei Utsuhora, a giant moray pianist who reincarnated from a human girl. Used her "ability to seize one's heart/body and never let go" to open a portal to Gensokyo, and stole all the sound for her and the S6 boss's concert.

Story: There was a huge earthquake, and now it's raining buckets out of nowhere! What the heck,
S1 boss: Shirane Koshino, a youkai rock ptarmigan (ie. 雷鳥 / "thunder bird"). Despite being called a thunder bird, she only manipulates the *sound* of thunder, not the thunder itself. Popular at festivals.
S2 boss: Yuunagi Masumida, a rain-woman (w/ fox and courtesan motifs) living on the Youkai Mountain. Actually the cause of the rain incident; the Stage 3 boss recruited her to redistribute water from a particular location that's been flooded.
S3 boss: Chie Sengetsudou, a daruma tsukumogami who can bring paintings of youkai to life (much in the vein of famous woodblock artist Toriyama Sekien). Mainly sells friendly paintings that assist and protect their buyers. Fought inside a Youkai Mountain cave, where she's doing flood prevention work on orders from the Yama.
S4 boss: Satomi Iwakura, a deified boulder youkai (based on both the boulder that blocked Ama-no-Iwato and the god who hurled it aside). Serves as the gatekeeper for one of Heaven's main ports of entry above the Youkai Mountain.
S5 boss: Nadeshiko Nawi, the divine spirit of a Nawi clanswoman, who uses her ability to sense underground veins to issue directions to the keystone-placing Hinanawi. (Also partly based on Kushinada-hime.) Usually located in Gensokyo, but came up to Heaven to observe the situation there.
S6 boss: Inasa Oomuranokami, a.k.a. Takemikazuchi. A god of thunder, earthquakes and war, with legendary exploits that include suppressing an earthquake-causing catfish and subduing Takeminakata (ie. Kanako). After discovering that Heaven was invaded by a pack of beast youkai aiming to steal the weather-controlling Yata-no-Kagami, she caused an earthquake and raging storm in order to flood the Sanzu River, therby cutting off their escape route (Heaven → Netherworld → Sanzu River located below).
EX boss: Hiyori Chigayama, a drought-causing beast youkai (魃 / batsu) who temporarily becomes a drought-causing goddess (魃 / hiderigami) with the power of the Yata-no-Kagami. Invaded Heaven to steal the mirror, got trapped due to the Sanzu River's flooding, made her getaway while the protagonists fought Inasa, then uses her souped-up drought powers in the EX stage to cancel out the rainstorm that awaited her back in Gensokyo.

First up: 東方円蒼月 ~ Blue Moon Rhapsody (https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm40737508), an album by Chama (ちゃま) that's based on the much-loved song Waltz of the Moon from the NHK's Minna no Uta (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minna_no_Uta). As for Elemental Quintet, I've actually got a physical copy of it, plus a couple of digital backups... and since I'm friends with the composer, I can probably just ask for a batch upload of it. (Might depend on if NRT's okay with sharing it openly, but I think the composer was working on remastered versions of the tracks a little while ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if NRT had something else planned for the tracks later on too. Yay)
I also have most if not all of the Marine Benefit spinoff tracks, so I can send you those within a day or two. And yeah, the Tumblr vanished into the ether somehow (; ^^) I still have all the text on my end, and last I checked, Kuroha's been reuploading most if not all of his blog-post stories after his Nicovideo blog likewise went down. So while I can't guarantee it'll be in the near future, I'd like to repost (and finish :P) the story translations on a more stable hosting service some time.

Seems like discussion here has stalled out. I have emailed NRT and tweeted at them as well, which seems to be the only way to get your hands on Elemental Quintet these days (as of 2018...). Will reply back if I make progress.As you might know, I'm interested in both.

Anyways, as for the rest of the albums shared, I'll try to include them, but, small explanation:
- I've been mostly including high quality eastern albums to spread info about them, gilde's help also helped in making an info dump of sorts for them. I know it's just my personal preference, but I'd prefer to mostly include things I find at least almost as good or interesting as stuff ZUN or Kaisendo Team makes and ones that have an extra barrier of entry like translations and extra story, with a lot of western albums, I don't see the need for a forum thread when all that's needed to get the gist of it is the youtube video/download link, but of course you can always suggest anything.
- I know not every artist is fine with spreading the word and free downloads of their work. For something that is available only via discontinued or japanese only sites, they usually understand and I think noone will mind or at least harass me about it, but I've been told to avoid sharing work of some composers whose albums have been mentioned, but of course you can always suggest anything.
- Personal bias. I'd rather not include anything from people I personally know, worked with or had issues with in the past, unless I can really look past that, but of course, list of those people (especially the last part) in Touhou community is too expansive, so you can always suggest anything.
And most importantly, thank you for keeping this thread alive.
